Welcome to the home page of Chad and Linda Ullman

About our home page

This was the original manifesto as put up by Linda way back in '98:
This is a life line to all the cuties back home. So, ja boet we're still pretty much going strong, you know.

Well, that's still true. But the page has also become something more. It's a link for our new friends to learn more about us, a place for everyone to share some of the cool stuff we've seen. And for those who were wondering about the title, "mkulu" can be loosely translated from Zulu as "huge".

Who are Linda and Chad

One of us is a CPA candidate and the other is a release engineer at Macromedia (you get to guess which). We arrived in the USA in March of 1998 from South Africa, where we had just completed our studies at the University of Pretoria. Find out more in the archive section entitled Coming to America.

So what's on this site?

Right now, the only new material to be found is in the travel section. Alternatively, you can browse our archives to see what we had up way back when. The archives are divided into two sections, the first is the original website that lasted until January of 2000 ( click here to view the first archive). The second archive is everything we created up until April 2001 (you'll find the second archive here).

In addition, we have added a new section. Chad's sister Ondine is currently in Russia as a volunteer teacher. You can browse an archive of some of her mail in the Ondine in Russia section.

Some of the photos in the archived pages have come courtesy of the genius of Phillip Greenspun. We have followed the development of his site for many years, it's definately worth the visit. You can find him at http://photo.net/philg/.

In addition, the nifty map used in the archives comes courtesy of GraphicMaps.com.

Anyway, so that's about it. Please, browse around and enjoy.
