The Groot Trek

Van ossewaens en die vervoer van lewend hawe...
We finally found a place willing to rent us a “trokkie” for the move, all 15 feet of it. The fun part is its condition,if we are lucky we will not be leaving half our load on the national roads, and of course its automatic and I’m a manual kind of gal. So in the end we have decided to take out extra insurance just in case a suicidal tree or telephone pole jumps up in front of us.

We did it! The truck turned out to be 23 feet in length and not 15, the cargo bay was 15 feet, hey, but what is a few feet, just feels like a very big 4x4. There were no problems and I only took the scenic route once, which led to an obscure little path, forcing an interesting u-turn. The automatic part gave me no problems, the excitement came from keeping on the right hand side, crazy Americans

"And all the time I though I was hired as a computer jock

The whole moved turned out to be quite an outing!!! The "guys"(Andrè, Jacques, Christof and Christo) joined us in an outrageous shopping spree. This of course incorporated the illegal transportation of the South African flock with regular oxygen pit stops.
